St. Mary's church, also called the German church because it was built for German merchants, is the oldest preserved building in Bergen, built 1180. Some old, German graves outside.
Located in Bryggen Mariaskirken is the oldest remaining church in the whole city. The construction is believed to have started around 1030-40 and finished 1180.
St. Mary's Church is located behind Bryggen in Bergen and is the city's oldest parish church, and at the same time Bergen's oldest preserved building. The church was built sometime in the 1100s, most likely between 1130 and 1170.
