The best hiking spot in Del Rio. Home to North America's oldest cave paintings, and the second oldest in the world. Additional hike and bike trails take you to an overlook of the Rio Grande River, with stunning views into Mexico.

Ancient rock art will draw you here. But you’ll find other things to do as well: Camp, hike, mountain bike, geocache and study history and nature. Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site is a 2,172.5-acre site that is operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. It is located on U. S. Highway 90, in Val Verde County which is about 40 minutes away from Del Rio, Texas and is adjacent to Amistad National Recreation Area. What makes this state park so special is that it is estimated that human habitation of the area began around 10,000 years ago, during the Holocene era when mammoth animals would have also lived here as well.
