Walk about 15- 20 minutes towards the Downtown truckee river. If it's summer you can take a dip in the water--watch the river height, as some years it can be a little dangerous for little ones. Bring or rent a tube and float through various sections of the river...or just stroll right alongside the river, stopping to eat, drink, shop.

Walk along the Truckee river. Very pretty spot full of restaurants and things to do along the way.
