Look, we know the big draw here is the fantastic Filipino food from Charles Olalia, but the cocktails are just as fun and colorful. Throw in a setting that feels like the tropics, complete with hanging plants and thatched walls, and you’ve got a recipe for transportive drinking. We always find ourselves coming back to the Manila by Night, made with Plantation pineapple rum, lemon, house-made coconut-banana shrub, orgeat and Xocolatl bitters, but it’s hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. A Fine Dining Chef Takes on Modern Filipino Food! Even though there’s never an empty table, things always manage to feel relaxed at Ma’am Sir. My Recommendation: The shrimp deviled eggs, pork sisig and the sensational longganisa sandwich are already marked down as musts. Make sure to make room for the warm dessert of banana bibingka, a traditional rice cake, here served with pandan whipped cream.
