The study where Mark Twain wrote during his Elmira summers was moved from Quarry Farm to the campus of Elmira College. It is an easy walk-up stop.
Located on the Elmira College campus, Twain wrote many of his works in this octagonal building.
This structure now sits on Elmira College property and is a tourist attraction for anyone interested in Mark Twain. It's where he wrote some of his most well-known books and used to belong to Quarry Farm, which is perched in the hills overlooking the Chemung Valley.
Mark Twain married a local woman thus spending time in the area writing in his study which is now displayed on the campus of Elmira College. His body is buried in the local Woodlawn Cemetery
