If you are looking for a quick day trip up Mount Taranaki, Dawson Falls is perfect for all ages and capabilities. Amazing views, beautiful native flora and fauna and of course the waterfall itself. Tip - On a clear day see if you can work out where The Nest is from the viewing platfom.
Great spot to start plenty of walks/hikes in the national park, Easy disabled access to waterfall, One of New Zealand's oldest operational power generators;
Dawson Falls is an approx 10 minute walk one way to the bottom of the falls from the Visitors Centre.
For the best views in Taranaki looking down towards Hawera, Eltham and Manaia. Drive up to the visitors centre - have a look inside. Then have a coffee at the cafe .... or indulge in staying and having dinner at the Restaurant. There are loads of hiking trails to explore. On a clear day the views are to die for!
