Elenor Rigby gravestone and the church hall is facing where Paul McCartney met John Lennon.
This neighbourhood is the very place where the Beatles story began. In July 1957, 15-year-old Paul McCartney was introduced first time to 16-year-old John Lennon by a mutual friend. John performed with his band The Quarrymen at a garden fete at St Peter Church. Just around the corner there is a plaque reminding of this meeting. On the graveyard itself, the grave of Eleanor Rigby featured in the 1966 Beatles’ song can be found.

St Peter's Church is in the village of Heysham, Lancashire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Lancaster, the archdeaconry of Lancaster and the diocese of Blackburn.
Visit the tiny church of St Peter's in Heysham, dramatically perched on a cliffside. This Grade I Listed church must have one of the most picturesque settings in the country, looking out over Morecambe Bay to the panorama of the Lakeland hills. There remains some of the Anglo-Saxon building from around 800AD but most of the present building dates from the 14th century. Inside the church is a Norse hog-back stone from around 1000AD and a chalice discovered in a stone coffin outside the church
