Maeshowe is a Neolithic chambered cairn and passage grave situated on Mainland Orkney, Scotland. It was probably built around 2800 BC. It gives its name to the Maeshowe type of chambered cairn, which is limited to Orkney.
This a fascinating Neolithic burial chambered cairn built around 28000 BC. It is situated 1.5 miles and 2 minutes away from Smiddy Cottage. There is a visitor centre in Stenness Village and a shuttle bus from there to the cairn itself.
