An English Heritage site, great for the family. You can take the great walk down Hurst spit or take the Hurst castle Ferry. You may even spot a seal on the way!
Great place to visit, worth the entrance costs to wander around inside the fort and original castle and enjoy tea and cake at the tea shop.
Keyhaven and Hurst Castle are lovely places to spend a day. If you are a good walker follow the coastal path from Lymington (or start at The Hayloft) and walk all the way down the spit to Hurst Castle at the end (note the only cafe at the end of this walk is if you pay to go into the castle). If you can't face the walk back catch the Ferry from Keyhaven. You could just drive to Keyhaven there is public parking a pub called The Gun and you can do mackerel fishing, walk the spit or catch the ferry to the spit.
