Check out the longest freestanding timber frame pedestrian bridge in Canada! It was built by over 100 timber framers and spans the Kicking Horse river!
The longest freestanding timber frame bridge in the country and is a point of community pride. It was raised in 2001 with over 100 members of the Timber Framers Guild from around the world to help out!
While exploring downtown Golden, stroll on the newly built River Walk, opened in October 2021, and over the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge at 8th Ave North. Golden is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge, which spans the river of the same name. At 46 meters (151 feet) across, it’s the longest freestanding timber frame bridge in Canada. In 2001, over 100 members of the Timber Framers Guild came from the US, Europe and all over Canada to help raise the bridge
