Piel is an offshore island. There are ferries to Piel Island in the summer, or it is possible to walk across the sands, with a local guide at low tide. Details of how to get to Piel Island.
Take a short boat trip and explore the ruins of Piel castle and enjoy a drink and something to eat at the 'King of Piel's' pub or the little cafe at Rampside.
got its own castle (don't be tempted to sit on the chair, you'll be paying a pub round), ferry to there leaves from Roa Island (summer). Guided walks from Walney
Great place to take a picnic and for a day out. Ferry runs from Roa Island 11 to 4.30. Just turn up and hop on £6 per person return. Seal sightseeing trips can also be booked in advance on the Piel ferry fb page. Pub serving drinks but no food currently although there is a cafe on Roa island by the ferry.
