Salisbury's original location. The Doomsday Book was presented to William the Conqueror here in 1086, and that same year he ordered all the nobles and knights of England to gather here to pay him homage and swear loyalty under the Oath of Salisbury.
You can take a lovely walk around the old ramparts (dogs allowed) and enjoy spectacular views. Free parking.
Ideal for a walk around the outer circle with great views over the city and countryside. Please note you will need to pay to go into the old castle ruins themselves
