You can drive along the Jurassic Coast and it forms the coastline. It is called this because it is an ancient coastline with ancient rock formations with archielogical finds from the jurassic period (dinosaurs).
The Jurassic Coast is a hugely diverse and beautiful landscape underpinned by incredible geology of global importance. In 2001 it was inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for the outstanding universal value of its rocks, fossils and landforms. It remains England’s only natural World Heritage Site.
We are on the edge of Dorset and very close to the Jurassic Coast here. Many parts of the Dorset stretch are around an hour from here including Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door and are absolutely stunning! Well worth a visit.
