Blue Cave is a water-logged sea cave on the east side of the island of Biševo, in central Dalmatian archipelago. It is one of the best known natural beauty spots on the Adriatic and a popular show cave due to the the glowing blue light that appears at certain times of day.
Blue cave is a natural phenomenon on island of Biševo near Vis. You'll find a lot of agencies on Split Riva that offer day trips.
This cerulean oasis is so unique because it is formed due to seawater eroding limestone, a rock Biševo island is wholly composed of. Thanks to the sunlight's reflection off the white seabed, which creeps through the opening of a vault at the top of the cave, a mesmeeizing blue hue fills its capacity.
Blue Cave is one of the most popular natural wonders in Croatia. I don’t recommend a daily speedboat trip from Split because it’s too long drive in an uncomfortable RIB. It’s better to visit beautiful island Vis with a regular catamaran line and then make a Blue Cave trip from Komiža. Or if you plan to visit Hvar you can take a Blue Cave tour from there.
