It is an iron wire bridge of the longest length in Japan, 297 m in length and 54 m in height from the river side, over the Kumano river (Totsu River), built by the residents of the local district (Tanase) district in 1952, for living use. It is the longest suspension bridge in Japan as the suspension bridge. One way traffic regulation is done during Golden Week and Bon Festival. Also, on August 4, 2008, from the Japan National Day Association, August 4 was registered as "Suspension Bridge Day".
