Étretat is best known for its cliffs, including three natural arches and the pointed "needle". These cliffs and the associated resort beach attracted artists including Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet...
A great cliff walk that will take your breath away. Schedule an hour. Then visit the old town and stop for a crepe. Also an amazing golf here with views on the sea.
Etretat is a beautiful old town and nice to visit. Be warned however, it is a favourite with Parisians and so it is wise to avoid Saturday and Sunday visits. In the summer, it is often necessary to park in the carparks along the road on the way in - and then there's a bit of a walk to the town.
It’s not the nearest beach to us but has the most impressive cliffs with ‘doors’ in them. A lovely typical French seaside town with a pebble beach. If you have seen Arsène Lupin on tv then remember your top hat!
