The church has a Basilical structure with three naves. The main cross is covered by barrel vaults and the rest of the bays are covered by cross vaults. Inside the temple, the major altarpiece should be highlighted, because it is considered to be one of the most monumental and representative works of the Baroque style in Seville as well as the colossal altarpiece of the façade of the sacramental chapel, which is dedicated to the Transfiguración (Transfiguration), both are works by Cayetano de Acosta (1770- 1779).

The Church of Divino Salvador is the second most important church of the dioceses of Seville after the cathedral. The area occupied by the church was previously the site of Ibn Adabbas Mosque built in the 800s. The same building, after some works, was used as a church once Christians conquered the city in 1248.

In this area there must have been originally a Roman-era building. The Ibn Adabbás mosque was built between 829 and 830. It was the largest mosque in the city until in 1182 the Almohads created the greater mosque. After the Reconquest of Seville in 1248, Ferdinand III of Castile placed the cathedral in the old main mosque of the city. Subsequently, Christianized the mosque of Ibn Adabbás with the invocation of the Divine Savior of the World.

4 mins via bicycle / 9 min walk. Quite a stunning baroque church. Abundant in both art and history, filled with priceless art and statues. Note: can be included in a joint ticket with the main cathedral or as a single ticket.
