Kehena Black Sand Beach - (35 min) This spectacular beach features a strip of dark black sand squished between palms & the ocean. Clothing is optional and the water is swimmable but can be dangerous and not necessarily suitable for children or poor swimmers.
Kehena Beach is a narrow black sand beach located on the east shore of the island of Hawaii, in the Puna district. Spinner dolphins frequent the water; as a result, the beach has also been known as Dolphin Beach. Clothing Optional!
Hawaii's only "clothing optional beach" and no you don't have to be naked to go and enjoy this jaw dropping beach. No camera's allowed and be EXTREMELY CAREFUL swimming here. The currents are super strong as well as the giant waves. Best only to swim during low tides. We like to take a tube or to wear a life jacket as it makes the experience much more enjoyable. This not a SEXUAL beach and there are children and families present. Drum circles on Sunday.
