One of a pair of small artillery forts built by Henry VIII in the 1530s to defend Fowey Harbour, consisting of two storeys with gun ports at ground level.
The castle was built by Henry VIII to keep out likely invaders. It's a spectacular view from here and especially breathtaking when the Red Arrows do their flyover during Fowey Royal Regatta in August - be sure to duck!
