Possibly the best Tex-Mex restaurant in America, El Tiempo will blow you away with Houston's best fajitas (get beef!) and killer margaritas in a wonderfully escapist atmosphere with golden lights and mariachi music. Don't miss the parrillada - this is the best way to sample all the grilled meat and seafood specialties here. The smallest version feeds three in memorable fashion. For solo diners, the Las Vegas combination plate is a good Tex-Mex sampler. Chile con queso is the go-to starter. 15-minute walk from the Plant House.

Great Mexican food! Not cheap. If you eat red meat, you have to try the filet mignon fajitas!
