If you haven't already considered renting a car, do so. Austin is a spread-out semi-rural city. Things that are considered "close" are usually at least 5 miles apart. Walking and biking around the city to get from place to place aren't really viable alternatives. You can use Uber/Lyft, but that price starts adding up. Rent a car, most places have free parking, you'll prefer the freedom it gives you to move around the city. Just avoid Interstate 35 near downtown if you can avoid it. Lots of traffic.

The closest grocery store is HEB. There is a great selection of just about anything you would need during your stay. If you have accidentally left something at home, HEB will likely save the day!
