Sassafras

This is a sort of throwback, Bayou-themed lounge that has live music pretty much all the time. The scene tends to be locals looking for a well-made cocktail, which Sassafras definitely has. You walk in any random night and there are some of the greatest musicians playing to you and maybe 30 other people for free. There’s a great organ trio called Rumproller that plays here every Monday night from 9 to 11:30. They play standards and covers in sort of a swing way. Get there early, though, it fills up fast.
