The Reed Creek Greenway is a shaded trail that goes through parts of the Botanical Gardens and UNC, as well as the Montford Historic neighborhood. Our favorite paved path in Asheville! It’s 3.8 miles out and back, and has a few inclines; great workout for running or stroller-pushing!
This short but sweet multi-use path serves as a connector between downtown Asheville and the beautiful University of North Carolina Asheville campus. The paved path parallels the riparian corridor of Reed Creek on one side, and the developing neighborhoods of Broadway Avenue on the other. Due to nearby development, it’s not the most serene path in Asheville, but it is a nice off-street commute to the University area. The southern end of the path starts near to intersection of Magnolia Ave and Young Street in the Montford neighborhood. It reaches north about .75 miles before reaching the Botanical Gardens at Asheville. Here, you can take a tour of the campus and gardens before continuing on Reed Creek through Mullen Park. The path extends another mile to Weaver Park, the turn around point. As an out and back, this route is about 3.8 miles, with opportunities to add mileage through the University and Gardens.

If you walk or run, this is my favorite neighborhood loop. Add a half mile by completing the Pearson/Hibriton circle.
A few minute walk from Bungalow, 1.5 miles of walking paths that connects to the 1 mile Gleen Creek Greenway, Botanical Garden & the 50 acre UNC Asheville urban forest.
