Tells the story of how the Hanseatic merchants lived and traded in Bergen for 400 years ago.
Time-travel to the period of the medieval Hanseatic League, which established Bergen as a Hansa City and Germanized its name ("Bergen" means "mountains" in German). To this day, most of the town's venerable old families have German surnames (Rieber, Mohn, Mowinckel, Kroepelien to mention a few).
The Hanseatic Museum is placed at Bryggen, at one of the oldest wooden buildings in Bergen. At the museum you will get to know about the life of the Hanseatic merchants.
