We want to make sure you feel empowered and supported in sharing your unique talents and passions as safely as possible. Consider the tips below about how to keep your guests safe and increase the likelihood they have a great time.

    Set detailed expectations

Informing potential guests about what to expect—even before they book—goes a long way in helping guests feel prepared and taken care of. It's a good idea to use your Experience listing page description to its fullest, and be detailed about any necessary physical requirements or safety measures that guests should take in advance.

It can help to put yourself in your guests’ shoes and think about what questions they might have. For example:

    • Is your activity particularly strenuous?
    • What type of equipment or supplies will you provide?
    • Should guests come prepared with sun protection, hiking shoes, or any other supplies?
    • Should people with certain allergies take special precautions?

Get to know your guests in advance

You can take advantage of our on-platform messaging tool to get to know your guests ahead of time. It’s there for both sides to ask each other questions and to set clear expectations.

The day before your Experience, we recommend sending your guests a reminder message through the app that includes information about safety. This will help make sure they come prepared.

Connect with Hosts in your area

Consider joining or starting a local Experience Host Club Facebook group to get insider access to Airbnb news, exchange hosting advice and safety tips, and find out about virtual or in-person meetups near you. Go to the link above, then filter the map by ‘Experiences Host’ and your location.

    Host responsibly

All Hosts are required to attest they are in compliance with local laws. Discover our responsible hosting resources, which may be helpful in learning about guidelines or requirements relevant to hosting an Experience on Airbnb.

Follow our COVID-19 safety requirements for Experiences, including our cleaning guidelines for Hosts, and make sure you also review and follow any additional cleaning guidance from government or health authorities in your local jurisdiction.

    Avoid scams

Fake or misrepresented users and Experiences have no place in our community, and we deploy a multi-layer defense strategy designed to reduce these kinds of scams. You’ll be best protected if you stay on our secure Airbnb platform throughout the entire process—from communication, to booking, to payment.

    Protect yourself and your guests

Experiences liability insurance provides coverage to Hosts, which is primary liability insurance coverage for Experience Hosts’ liability to a third party in the event a guest or other third party suffers bodily injury or property damage during an Experience. The coverage provided is up to $1 million. Coverage eligibility depends on the type of Experience you are hosting.

    If in doubt, reach out

Our Customer Service and Trust and Safety teams are standing by 24/7 in 11 languages to help make things right. With offices spanning the globe, our Trust and Safety team is made up of support agents, engineers, data scientists, law-enforcement liaisons, victim-advocacy specialists, insurance experts, and moreall working together to help better protect our community.

Experiences liability insurance doesn’t cover Hosts in mainland China or Japan. Keep in mind that all coverage limits are shown in USD, and that there are other terms, conditions, and exclusions.
